Silver Planeur and Paul Townend win at Wexford

Following on from earlier wins on Willie Mullins' pair, Sapphire Lady and Eight And Bob Paul Townend made it a Wexford hat-trick on Silver Planeur for Eric McNamara in the Casey Concrete Gorey Handicap Hurdle. Court Adjourned put it to her rivals out in a clear lead but it was apparent from the top of the hill after the third last that she'd do well to last it out.
Silver Planeur, the 4/1 favourite, took over in the straight and she had too much for the chasing Lady Of The Sea Five and a half lengths separated them at the finish.
"I was a little bit worried that the one in front wasn't going to come back, but I knew from the top of the hill that she wasn't going to stay going," remarked Townend.
"The ground is testing and the race probably fell apart, and it suited us coming from behind. It was a good honest test and we got a good lead into it. It just worked out today."
