If young Kildare rider Eddie O'Connell, a recent recruit to agent Niall Cronin, thought things couldn't get any better after partnering City Hustler and Vivaldi to victory, he was wrong, as he galvanised the latter's stable companion, Yachvili into a winning run in the Ladbrokes.com Handicap Hurdle at Ballinrobe. After race at Downpatrick Wed, 14th Nov, 2012 (1st)
This is a special day. I own and train the horse and now my step-son has had his first winner on him. Monica, his mother, will be very proud. We're trying to learn him his trade and his future is over jumps. This horse has been a good servant. I didn't give him much of a chance on that ground but Liam gave him a good ride. He's a tricky customer so Liam did it well. He works hard, he schools over fences and hurdles and he does all I ask. All the bollocking he gets is justified now!

After race at Ballinrobe Tue, 4th May, 2010 (1st)
Eddie [O'Connell] is the strongest seven pound claimer in the country at the moment. The ground was spot on for him today. He has a superb pedigree, he lost his way a little bit during the Winter. He loves this type of ground and hopefully we'll pick up another one, he won a shade cosily today and he has the scope to go chasing. We will concentrate more in Ireland this year rather than take our horses aboard.
