Review ballinrobe 4th May
Adrian Heskin is the man of the moment on the jumps scene and he shone again as Warcraft took the Roundfort Stores Beginners Chase at Ballinrobe.
The young jockey, who made big headlines when winning the bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown, always had Michael Hourigan's seven-year-old handily placed not far off the leaders in the two-and-three-quarter-mile contest.
The 6-1 shot didn't put in the best of jumps at the second-last but led at the final fence before galloping clear to win in commanding style by four lengths.
Patrick Mullins produced his father Willie's Cuchulains Son with a strong run after the last to snatch the Treacy's Pharmacy Hurdle.< Sherchanceit took over on the turn into the straight and set sail for home, but she was oustayed up the run-in as the 9-4 favourite snatched the verdict close home by a head.
An error at the final flight was the undoing of Ballyadam Brook in the Western People Maiden Hurdle and Cyborg grabbed the opportunity to score by two lengths under Robbie McCarth.
Charles Byrnes was not allowed to put Andrew McNamara on the heavily-backed 3-1 shot after 7lb claimer Keith Schous cried off, but McCarth was an able deputy.
Cyborg was snapping at the heels of the front-runner at the time of the mistake and may well have won anyway.
Jackie Bolger's colours, very familiar from the big races on the Flat, were carried to victory by Cothrom Na Feinne in the Killeen Sports Grounds Handicap Hurdle.
John Cullen cleared away rounding the final turn on the Des McDonogh-trained five-year-old (9-1), who was eased on the run-in but still scored by a comfortable seven lengths.
James Lambe's Yachvili (10-1) led on the final turn and stormed clear under Eddie O'Connell to take the BA Morley Memorial Handicap Hurdle by seven lengths.
