Huge Prize for Hennessy with Ballysax win
Pre-race some saw the Group Three Woodford Reserve Ballysax Stakes at Dundalk as being all about Monarch Of Egypt, but it was his Ballydoyle stable companion Nobel Prize that took the honours under Killian Hennessy. Sun 12th JulLordan lights up the Curragh with 509/1 treble
Joseph O’Brien struck for third time on the day, whilst it was also at hat-trick for Wayne Lordan, as Music To My Ears landed the TRM Fillies Handicap at the Curragh. Fri 26th JunKeane doubles up and moves to 90 winner mark for season
Jockeys' Championship leader Colin Keane completed a double at Dundalk today and in the process moved to the 90 winner mark for the season as he steered the Johnny Murtagh trained Siamese to win the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Maiden. Fri 27th SepO'Brien strikes back on Fancy Blue
After a double for Colin Keane Donnacha O’Brien brought it back to 84 plays 85, in the race to be champion jockey for 2019, as he triumphed for his father Aidan on Fancy Blue in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Maiden at Naas. Wed 18th Sep
After race at Dundalk Fri, 27th Sep, 2019 (1st)
it was a very nice performance; she had a very good first run and Niall (McCullagh, jockey) was delighted with the way she ran and said she got a bit tired the last time. It was an ideal race for her today and being by Kitten's Joy we always thought she'd like faster ground. Colin was just saying that she's a very nice filly and maybe next year. We are no rush now as her maiden is out of the way and the ground is going to get soft from now on. I'll speak to the owners (Qatar Racing) but we might put her away and dream about having a nice filly next year. She's doing everything right and has improved a lot in the last couple of months. Hopefully she can make up into a stakes filly. I was hoping she'd do something like that today and she did.
