Safari is on the Up
With the defection of Alderwood, just eight went to post for the Oran Novice Hurdle, with Safari Sunup getting the better of the 13/8 favourite Jacksonslady after another battle up the home straight. Tue 05th JulSunny side Up
Eoin Doyle’s good recent spell continued when his Safari Sunup justified 2/1 favouritism to win the opening August Racing Festival 11th to 14th Maiden Hurdle at a warm Tramore this evening. Fri 03rd Jun
After race at Roscommon Tue, 5th Jul, 2011 (1st)
He is a grand horse and Tramore didn't suit him the last time. I know he won there but he wasn't that impressive. He did it well today, to pull back the leader (Jacksonslady) and he battled on well. He wouldn't want the ground any worse than that, but he wouldn't want it like a road either. He will go for a Novice Hurdle next at Galway.
Eoin Doyle
After race at Tramore Fri, 3rd Jun, 2011 (1st)
Safari Sunup is a grand horse but two and a half miles on a galloping track is ideal for him. He stayed on like hell at Punchestown the last day and should improve from today. He may go for a novice hurdle at Galway next.
