- Beliar wins Tramore opener
Beliar wins Tramore opener
The opening Style Evening At Tramore Races Claiming Race at Tramore this evening went to the Eoin Doyle trained Beliar who was following up a course in distance win last June.
The son of Tertullian, under Danny Grant, was produced on the line to defeat Quai Du Roi
Afterwards Doyle said “that was my first winner of this year’s Festival – we¦ve been knocking on the door a bit without getting in front.”
“He might be claimed now but this was the ideal race for him as he likes here. We tried him over hurdles but he’s not in love with hurdles but hopefully at this grade he’ll pick up another one.”
Without mentioning any individual horse’s name, Doyle added “hopefully I’ll be talking to ye (members of the press) again later!” Doyle runs Deauville Post Safari Sunup and Grand Cru in the later races.
There were no subsequent claims for any horse from the race.
