He’s as tough as teak and is unlucky not to win the last two runnings of the Irish Cesarewitch, so he deserved a nice win here. He’s been a great dual-purpose servant and his full-sister Search For A Song won this race two years ago. It’s a possibility that he might go over hurdles at Leopardstown at Christmas or he might go to Dubai for the two-mile race. He has stacks of enthusiasm but he is a character.

A mile-and-a-half is a little on the short side for him. You kind of felt from a furlong out, while it wasn't looking pretty, he was always going to get there. He got a good strong ride from Finny and he's won easily at the line. His sister went out on her sword earlier on. She ran a wonderful race in the Prix Royal-Oak, she was absolutely loving it. The winner is rated 118 and is a good horse and they are clear of the rest. If he wasn't in the race she would have won easily. This is Finny's first winner at the Curragh which is lovely and we're delighted for Ronan who is a long-standing and loyal supporter.

He did it well and the ground was probably slower than ideal for him. He jumped well and hopefully he can improve from that again in the weeks and months ahead. He probably needs to get more experience under his belt but it was nice to get that out of the top and to have Paul available to ride him was the cherry on the top. He is a very high class horse at his best and has run some excellent races in some of those Group staying races. We'll be mixing it between flat and hurdles during year with him. The last day I was here Merchant Royal won a hunters chase in my own colours so I better stay away for another ten years!

He is learning how to be a racehorse and is still very immature and is far from the finished article,. We hope he will make into a very nice four year old next year and we've had to be patient with him and it's paying off. He'll have one more run this year in six weeks time. By the way he is bred you'd hope he might end up being something and he hasn't let us down to date. He won't be a St Leger horse this year but it would be lovely if he made into an Irish St Leger horse next year; it's a race dad has a good record in so it would be nice to add to it. We'll take baby steps for now and see where we end up.
