Reports in which College Daisy (IRE) was mentioned
Leigh at his best aboard Badgerlaw
Badgerlaw displayed admirable battling qualities to land a nice pot in the Watch Racing UK on Chorus NTL Handicap Hurdle. Sun 31st JanMontana takes Brown Lad
Montana Slim defied top weight, under Keith Clarke, to win the Brown Lad Handicap Hurdle at Naas today, justifying his trainer Michael O'Hare's decision to keep the gelding hurdling. Sat 31st OctReview kilbeggan 11th Sep
Trainer Edward O'Grady and jockey Andrew McNamara stole the honours at Kilbeggan thanks to a double with Newt Town Bay and Jack FinchFri 11th Sep
O'Grady & McNamara double up with Jack
Jack Finch, became the third winner of the day to have previously scored over the course (College Daisy and Dashing Ruby the other two) when he held off See Double You by a head in the Dunbia Handicap Chase. In the process the Overbury gelding was bringing up over a 42/1 double for Edward O'Grady and Andrew McNamara. The pair had earlier been on the mark with New Town Bay. Fri 11th SepDashing Ruby on the mark again at Kilbeggan
After the win of College Daisy, course-winning form again proved the key as Dashing Ruby led before three out and his fluent hurdling enabled him to beat off Tuscany Star (mistake five out and lost the lead and a number of places), who rallied but got the last wrong also, by four lengths, in the Fay Bookmakers Handicap Hurdle. Fri 11th SepDaisy does it again at Kilbeggan
Course-winning College Daisy made virtually all to land the Midland Breeders Supporting Kilbeggan European Breeders Fund Mares Hurdle and she battled gamely in the straight to see off Moonlight Sapphire by half a length. Fri 11th SepCollege Daisy takes opener at Kilbeggan
Dessie Hughes kept up his terrific record around Kilbeggan when landing the opening race on this evening’s card, The Pat Doyle Memorial Mares Novice Hurdle with 9/2 shot College Daisy under Roger Loughran. Fri 21st Aug6,299/1 Four-Timer for 'Slippers'
Niall 'Slippers' Madden and Mouse Morris probably thought things couldn't get any better after The Rebel Returns gave them a treble and double respectively in the O'Dwyer Tarmac Handicap Hurdle but half-an-hour later when Baily Rock scored in the Children's Entertainment Hurdle at odds of 20/1 it completed a 6,299/1 four-timer for the Kildare rider and a 2,519/1 treble for the Everardsgrange trainer at Tipperary. Sun 19th JulAcross The Card Double for Hughes

Jessica Harrington's Badgerlaw, sporting first-time blinkers, landed Cork's feature Listed Imperial Call Chase in the hands of Andrew LeighSat 11th Apr
After race at Kilbeggan Fri, 11th Sep, 2009 (1st)
She keeps surprising us. Ian's five pound claim made the difference. She'll go for a handicap now, she is in a three miler at Listowel on Thursday but that'll come a bit quick and we'll wait. There will be plenty of other opportunities for her. She is small but she'll probably end up in a mares chase in the winter.

After race at Kilbeggan Fri, 21st Aug, 2009 (1st)
She did it well, she's been in particularly good form lately and we thought she'd run well. She'd a good run at Tipperary but she'd no race in Galway. Ian McCarthy rode her in Galway last time out and when he got down to the start he felt the saddle was a bit loose so he got down to fix it and when he got back up one of the handlers flicked the reins back over his head. When they jumped off Ian tried to bring the horse to the inside rail so he pulled on the reins but horse went in the other direction as the reins had twisted.

She is a half-sister to Watson Lake. She loved the good ground, and she hasn't got it since her first run which is over a year ago. Hopefully she'll win another hurdle but she will go chasing as she isn't the fastest in the world. She will be a valuable broodmare and her owner Gerry Burke (Galway man) will be delighted with her.
