I didn't know but I thought on the nod we might have got it,. I was cursing for four furlongs of the race thinking we were on the wrong side so it was probably a good performance. He deserves it, he's a little star and never runs a bad race. I'm sure we'll end up back in Dundalk for the winter. He had been hitting a flat spot in his races and I said to Siobhan 'don't force him' and it seems to have worked as he's run two better races the last twice. Siobhan was flying and then Covid came. It's very tough to give chances the way things are but she's well worth the 7lb claim, listens to what she's told and is improving all the time. I'm delighted for her and hopefully it might kick start her again.

I'm delighted, particularly for Siobhan and the horse. That's Siobhan's 10lb gone now, she's a really good rider and is improving all the time. She's good value for 7lb now. The horse is a little trooper, he's very consistent. She put the stick down close home and we work hard on it together, getting her rhythm and routine right. It's really coming together for her now and I think she has a future. She can do bottom weight, she has a brain as well and gives good feedback. Bellick is a little dinger and is very genuine. He doesn't win by too far but that suits me. He was a cheap yearling and is one of the favourites in the yard so it's great to get another win for him.

he's a very genuine and consistent horse. He ran very well from a bad draw over five the last day so we thought he had a chance but I thought it was a competitive heat. He got a great ride from Ronan so I'm thrilled. I did get worried for a little while with the horse in front but he does finish off well so I thought from a furlong home he was going to get him. I wouldn't quite say 'never in doubt'!. A strong pace probably suits him. He wants six around here or a stiff five on the turf. He was a cheap yearling (E2,000 at Tattersalls September Sale) and he's won two now so we're delighted with him. We'll freshen him up and come back here or go to the turf. He handles good ground on the turf and doesn't want it too soft. We'll be selective but he doesn't owe us anything.

He ran well on his first handicap run and the only thing we were worried about was the ground,. It was a lot different and some of those Maysons like ease. Colin said he wouldn't want it any quicker and they've done a good job watering. He's only learning the sprint game, it takes a bit of getting used to. Hopefully he's progressive. He's a nice little horse, and wasn't expensive, so I'm delighted with that. It's just getting them to where they fit in. It takes a while sometimes, especially with the horses you buy as yearlings. They are not all going to win maidens up the Curragh so you have to find their grade. They're healthy and if they're healthy you have a chance.
