we're going to retire him now, that's the end for him. Hopefully I get another one that's as good as him. He's not the best horse, he's not a Big Shu but wears his heart on his sleeve. He's been a horse of a lifetime, a great horse, he's a bit cracked but he's not bad in his own way. When Enda's horse (Bolger, Shady Operator) came out it was a penalty kick. Singing Banjo is great but he's loaded up with the weight and Vital Island was probably a bit tired from Tuesday - he had a great chance.

to win this again means everything. There is nothing like the banks races as it requires top courage for riders and horses. A lot of races have been modified but that’s the last gladiator stand left. . Ballyboker was always a good horse but he doesn’t stay. You have to nurse him around and he got his own way for a bit and he filled up and went away again. If he gets a breather he’ll stay well but he used to run very keen with the choke out when he was younger.

I'd say he will go to Cheltenham now, and he will be a better horse on better ground. He's not bad for €3,000,.

he (Ballyboker Bridge) wants a bit better ground and all the work is down to Gary and Michael Bates who I bought him off. They told me he was a good one and they were right. The rest is history and here he is now at 33/1 - there's plenty of room in the pond for the little fish.
