Count Simon takes to fences in Punchestown
On ratings he was probably entitled to do it but Jack was very happy with him. He jumped well and he just does what he has to do when he gets to the front. He’s that laidback that he could go any trip. He’s got the pace for two and a half (miles) and he’d stay three. He’ll be a fun horse to keep going. It’s good for Jack as it’s his first winner since he’s come back and we’ll try and keep him and Davy happy. Jack had to get a pin removed from his leg which was related to an old injury.

Peregrine Run brings up hat-trick in good style
He’s some horse to have in the yard and there are plenty more in the family coming along. There is a conditions hurdle in a few weeks’ time that he could go for. I doubt if he’ll go for a Galway Plate with a mark of 157. If Listowel came up quick he could go there for the Kerry National. There is a handicap hurdle at Galway that he might go for as he’s got a mark of 139. Unless it rains he’ll stay going as his races take nothing out of him. He’s very ground dependent and even today his jumping wasn’t as quick as it was in the handicap. I’d love to get a handicap mark for him on the Flat.

Ryan and Quinlan Reach Up for a victory
He’s a grand horse, and his ultimate aim is to go for the race in Listowel (Kerry Group Handicap Chase) that Kylecrue won three times. We’ll find something in Galway and we’ll consider anywhere there is a nice handicap chase.

Gun Merchant seals Elliott's brace
He’s a nice, big, galloping horse. We’ll leave him now for his summer holidays and he’ll be a grand horse to come back in and go hurdling. My father (Pat) and a heap of his friends own him so it’s grand. I actually trained my first Irish winner for them (Barstool Prophets Syndicate) with a horse called Toran Road (at Kilbeggan in May, 2007).
