Getabird wins well on debut over flights
That was a good performance. He jumped like a chaser rather than a hurdler, and to do that on that ground takes a fair bit of ability. I thought at the third last that he'd blown up and then he came back on the bridle again. I think I saw today what we saw as a bumper horse. Hopefully he stays right now for the season, and he'll be a nice staying novice hurdler. He'll come on hugely from that.

Sizing so good on return to action
First run of the year you are always nervous. I wasn't worried about the heavy ground going two and a half miles but he was super. The mistake at the second fence woke us all up and he jumped super after that. He's a super jumper and it's the first time he's made a mistake in all the races that I've been training him. He doesn’t mind heavy ground, not going two and a half miles, it's just going three miles would bottom him out a fair amount. I don't know where he will go next. It's always one race at a time and I'll have to talk to a few people before we decide where we go next. The one place he will turn up all things being equal is in March, and what we do between now and March will depend on the horse. We might go to Leopardstown or the King George or we might miss Christmas all together.

Avenir D'Une Vie makes all at Punchestown
Andrew Lynch rode him in Naas over 2m3f and he was convinced he would have been hard to catch over two miles that day. It was unfortunate that he fell the last day but he was brilliant today. He’s in the race at Christmas at Leopardstown, and I’ll speak to the O’Leary’s and see what they would like to do. Hopefully he’s at that level.

Walsh & McManus double-up with Arm
He's been knocking on the door all through the year. He jumps and he gallops, the ground suited and all went well. He was running a lovely race when he missed the fourth last badly here the last day, and he's come on from that run.

Impressive Hollow makes it four for Mullins
He looks the real deal. He's a fine looking horse and is by the right sire in Beat Hollow. He looks like he could be a Cheltenham bumper horse. It isn't the sort of ground you would pick to run horses on but he just galloped away through it like he's a decent horse. I'll probably run him again as he's very laid back and another run might not do him any harm. It's a long way to March.
