Alpha Male shows them who's boss
He must have a good one point-to-pointing today. It worked out well in the end. He jumped, travelled and stayed at it well. I was glad to get a tow down to the second last and he actually had a little look around going down to the last so he won snug enough in the end. I'm delighted with that. To be fair to my old horse he stuck his head down and rallied the whole way to the line. It was a good performance.

Deserved win for Francois as Meyler doubles-up
We had to go back to the drawing board after his few runs but we got it right today so we're very happy,. It was a good performance today. He was third in Wexford two weeks ago, when Donagh rode him, and came on from that.

It looked an opportunity, especially when Keith (Donoghue) fell as he looked the obvious danger. Jack (Kennedy) loomed up and gave us a race of it all the same. I said beforehand that he was more manageable now but I didn't think he was that manageable. Maybe he's just learning and the fact that we were going a nice gallop suited as well. He's a grand horse and it will do him the world of good to win as he's been running in a lot of competitive races and getting hard races without getting his head in front. That will do his confidence the world of good.

Tudor provides Martin with third winner of the week
The horses have been in great form and are doing everything right. He's been a bit unfortunate, he probably hasn't won as many races as he should have for the class of animal he is but today was brilliant,. He's been running since he was a two-year-old and has given us some great days, he won a Galway Hurdle and he's been a real good servant. He's been running in top quality handicaps on the Flat and over hurdles and always finishing bang there. It's lovely to get that today. We had a few bad years, we had a lot of mishaps and different troubles but touch wood all the horses are running well now again. Fingers crossed it continues. The hope is to go back to Galway with him but when they get to that stage of life you just keep tipping away and hope they pay for themselves. It's like Golden Spear who is retired now, he won in Leopardstown in March. Hopefully this fella will run away over the summer, go to Killarney and end up in Galway. The Galway Hurdle is probably beyond him now and we could look at the consolation hurdle on the Friday. His Flat mark is quite good now, he's down to 76 and he is competing well in good handicaps in the mid 80s so that long distance handicap in York could be on the agenda for him.

Connell's Marine impresses on debut
He's a smart horse. He hasn't been away anywhere and we haven't had him on grass before,. He was working really well at home but I thought he might need the experience here today. He's a quick horse, he's by French Navy the sire of Layfayette. The options are open for him, either a winners bumper or a Flat maiden, maybe the race in Galway. That's a bonus to get that done today, I would have been happy to finish in the first three. It looked a strong enough race and the third was third in a festival bumper here. The rider was very happy with him and said he was straight-forward, you couldn't ask for more really.
