Davy Condon and Paul Townend were both in double form on the seven-race card at Tramore.
Condon was the first to score with Cnoc Na Sioga though things did not look too promising for him entering the last half-mile of the August Festival 16th To 19th Maiden Hurdle as Knockeenonthedoor was still going well in front and looked likely to stay there.
But the jockey got to work on John Ryan's 4-1 shot and received a willing response as the lightly raced five-year-old, making his bow over jumps, collared the long-time leader close home to win by a length and a quarter.
It was much easier for Condon as he completed his double on 5-2 favourite Jamsie Hall who made his first start for Gordon Elliott a winning one with a commanding seven-length victory in the jogforjockeys.ie Handicap Hurdle.
Townend guided The Amarillo Kid (9-2) to what was in the end an easy victory in the 1912-2012 Tramore Centenary Beginners Chase, but only after drama at the second-last fence.
There were plenty in with a chance at that stage, but Ferris Bueller fell and brought down Annie Other with Mayday Frontier losing momentum, and Willie Codd's seven-year-old emerged from the mayhem with the race in the bag, scoring by 16 lengths.
Davy Russell was in the wars on Ferris Bueller so Townend took over on Drumlister in the tramore-racecourse.com Handicap Chase and breezed in on Arthur Moore's 2-1 favourite, who scored by six lengths.< Grey Soldier attempted to make all in the August Racing Fest 16th-19th Beginners Chase, but he had no answer when Ruby Walsh powered past on Lend A Hand Son after jumping the second-last, and Michael Hourigan's 6-4 favourite finished three and a quarter lengths clear of Total Excitement
There were four in with a shout at the final flight of the Dunhill Handicap Hurdle and in a thrilling finish Shay Barry got Eoin Doyle's 14-1 shot The Rossmeister home by a head from Opera Music
