Review tramore 16th Aug
Barry Geraghty certainly earned his riding fee aboard Duers in the Killone Estate Handicap Chase at Tramore.< Ah Ya Boy Ya and Alan Crowe looked to have the race in the bag inside the final furlong, but Geraghty was persistent on Paul Magnier's charge.
Racing from a mark 5lb higher than when he won at Kilbeggan only eight days ago, the seven-year-old knuckled down for pressure to win by a head.
"For a big horse you would think he would like soft ground, but he is much better on good ground," said Magnier of the 17-2 winner.
"He's holding his form well and we will probably go for another handicap."
There was a nasty moment as John Cullen took a crashing fall from Tory Hill Lad after slipping on the bend. He was stood down for seven days and taken to Waterford Hospital for X-rays.
