< Casamento was the highlight of a Gary Carroll treble at Tipperary, looking a horse with a big future in taking the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.

The Sheikh Mohammed-owned colt (8-1) created a particularly good impression in beating Cannon Hill by two and a half lengths on his racecourse debut, with Carroll replacing the injured Shane Foley on the son of Shamardal.

Winning trainer Michael Halford said: "He is big and still a bit babyish, but we've always liked him and he's always shown plenty at home. We're just delighted to get him started.

"It wasn't the plan to make the running, but Gary said he jumped well and settled in front and he picked up and stretched well. He has got plenty of size and scope and I'd expect him to come on plenty for this.

"We have him in the National Stakes and we'll have to discuss where we'll go next."

Carroll had struck earlier on Halford's Della'alba (3-1), who was defying a 326-day absence as she came home in good style to land the www.tipperaryraces.ie Maiden.

Halford added: "She did it really well considering that we thought she'd need it.

"She fractured a cannon-bone and took a long time to come right. Gary said she felt good and might come on a bit from it as she was having a good blow afterwards."

The Carroll hat-trick came courtesy of another spare as he replaced the dehydrated Johnny Murtagh on Joanna Morgan's 4-1 favourite Beauthea in the Tipperary Town Handicap.

Carroll kicked on two and a half furlongs out, with the judge ruling there was nothing to separate the market leader from the fast-finishing King's Bastion

The latter was a short price to get the race in the immediate aftermath, but with no mirror image available, a dead-heat was called.

Morgan said: "She's a lovely game little filly and she is in at Galway on Monday and she might go there."

Things got even better for the Morgan yard when Fourpenny Lane (5-1) landed the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fairy Bridge Stakes in the hands of Rory Cleary, standing in for Willie Supple, another rider on the sidel
