Review thurles 24th Nov
Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh have been firing in winners left, right and centre of late and continued in the same vein at Thurles, capping a treble with a bloodless win for Zaidpour in the Rock Of Cashel Hurdle.
Walsh barely had to move a muscle on the 3-10 favourite, as he cruised into the lead on the home turn and soon stretched clear.< Boland's Corner came home eight lengths back in second, while Grand National runner-up Oscar Time was well beaten on his reappearance.
Their run started when smart hurdler Bishopsfurze got off the mark at the first attempt over fences in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase.
The race was all about three horses, with Bishopsfurze keeping tabs on Rathlin and Jim Will Fix It as they pulled miles clear of the rest.
Favourite Rathlin tired close home, which left Bishopsfurze (7-4) to battle to a half-length victory over Jim Will Fix It.
Mullins and Walsh secured the second leg of their treble when Apt Approach landed the Glen Chase.
A slow leap at the second-last seemed to put the 11-10 favourite on the back foot, but he battled back well and went on to beat Baily View by two lengths.
Mullins and Walsh had to settle for third in the concluding Holycross Maiden Hurdle as 13-8 favourite Better Times length and a half success over A Fine Young Man gave jockey Davy Russell a double on the day after he had landed the Thurles Mares Maiden Hurdle on spare ride Is Herself About (12-1).< Supreme Builder just got the better of a thrilling duel with Jolily to land the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Chase and give John 'Shark' Hanlon his 100th winner under Rules.
Brian Hayes got a real tune out of the 10-1 chance, who boxed on well to score by half a length.< On My Own (16-1) battled gamely to win the Munster Handicap Hurdle under Brian O'Connell.
