Andrew Lynch bagged the first part of a Thurles double in somewhat fortuitous fashion as Kansas City Chief took the Jimmy Neville Memorial Beginners Chase.

Mary Hallahan's 7-1 chance looked booked for a place at best as Hurricane Darwin cruised into the lead, but he came down at the last, allowing Kansas City Chief to get the better of a real scramble to the line, as he fended off So Young s late run to score by three-quarters of a length.

Lynch's second win came in the Clonoulty Handicap Hurdle aboard Mick The Jiver

Edward O'Grady's 6-1 chance led entering the home straight and though Vic Approach fell at the last when mounting a challenge, there was no doubting Mick The Jiver's tenacity, as he ran on well to hold off Sarah Battle by a neck.< Jennies Jewel got back to winning ways with a gutsy run in the Thurles Racecourse Hurdle.

Jarlath Fahey's 2-1 chance looked in trouble when favourite As De Ferbet opened up a gap on the home turn, but she battled back well for Ian McCarthy before running on to a four-and-a-half length success.< Follow The Swallow got the better of a three-way run to the line in the Templemore Beginners Chase.

After odds-on favourite Chatham House Rule led for much of the race, the 16-1 winner and Macs Legend joined him two out and the latter pair got the better of the argument.

Liz Doyle's Follow The Swallow proved just the strongest after the last prevailing by three-quarters of a length under Sean Flanagan.

Jack Kennedy guided Norman Lee's 11-4 favourite Rebel Cry to victory in the Devil's Bit Handicap Chase, while Ger Fox was a motionless passenger aboard Stephen Mahon's Champagne Harmony (evens favourite), who bolted up by 17 lengths in the Martinstown Opportunity Maiden Hurdle.

Can't Wait passed the post in front in the Littleton Flat Race, but lost the race after a stewards' enquiry, awarding the race to Gillian Callaghan's 33-1 chance Arena Seven ridden by Paul Bannon.
