< Bachasson s victory in the Boomerang Animal Bedding And Boomerang Horse And Country Store Chase was the highlight of a double for Willie Mullins and Paul Townend at Thurles.

The 8-11 favourite tracked Val De Ferbet in the early stages of the Listed contest and travelled powerfully throughout, before pulling clear on the back straight and leaving the pacesetter 24 lengths behind at the line, with Townend barely having to move a muscle.

The double was completed when 11-10 favourite Ainsi Va La Vie was equally impressive in winning the Sportsmens Mares Maiden Hurdle.

Townend was happy to track the early pacesetters on the grey, who picked up in taking fashion when asked turning for home and powered clear to win by 13 lengths from Martello Park

Gordon Elliott's 9-10 chance never looked in danger under Jack Kennedy, easing clear at the second last and scoring by 11 lengths from Mary Frances

1-2 favourite Rio Vivas led entering the straight, but was brushed aise close home as Lisa O'Neill drove the 11-2 winner a length and a half ahead of All For Joy

John Walsh's Broder (15-2) proved way too strong for his rivals in the www.thurlesraces.ie Handicap Hurdle, winning by eight lengths under Sean Flanagan, while the jockey completed a double when guiding Eric Larkin's 20-1 chance Oakfield Rose to another eight-length success in the Killinan Handicap Hurdle.
