< Pearl Earing stepped down from Group Three company to a considerably more modest level in the Tote Pick 6 50,000 Euros Auction Race at Sligo and found it very much to her liking.

Wayne Lordan got her away from the gates quickly and wasted no time in tacking over to the rails berth, and supporters of the 4-5 favourite had no worries from there onwards.

David Wachman's daughter of Excellent Art had the opposition on the stretch entering the final quarter-mile and went away in the short straight to beat Victory Rich by six and a half lengths.

Andy Oliver introduced a promising three-year-old in the shape of Long Dog who was much too good for the opposition in the Kilcawley Construction Sligo Maiden.

Second for most of the way, the 12-1 shot was sent on by Chris Hayes rounding the final bend and stretched clear to win by eight lengths from the hot favourite Thomas Edison who got going far too late and never threatened.

The trainer completed a double when the Conor Hoban-ridden Stephen Hero (6-1) was driven clear in the Tote Placepot 500 Euros Average Dividend Apprentice Handicap to win by a length and three-quarters.

Timothy Doyle's top-weight Vasoni (9-4 favourite), a recent course and distance winner, powered round the outside off the final bend in the first division of the Tote Jackpot Races 3 To 6 Handicap and swept clear to win two and three-quarter lengths under Billy Lee.< Have A Nice Day didn't quite last home in the second division and he was grabbed by two late-chargers, Pat Martin's unconsidered 33-1 shot Engage The Dance edging out Drinmoy Lad by a short head in the hands of Niall McCullagh.

Fergus Hanley's The Black Russian (8-1) galloped his rivals into the ground in the Kilcawley Construction Sligo Maiden Hurdle and Andrew Lynch doubled up when driving Paul Gilligan's Harangue (2-1 favourite) to a hat-trick in the Sligo Champion Handicap Hurdle.
