Sweet Sound made it two wins from two when landing the Irish Stallion Farms E.B.F. Auction Race at Roscommon on Monday evening.

The Ger Lyons-trained juvenile got off the mark at the first attempt in good style at Tipperary earlier in the month and was sent off 9-10 favourite to repeat the dose in the seven-furlong contest.

Colin Keane made his move on the Vocalised filly approaching two furlongs out and she showed a nice turn of foot to kick clear, before sticking to her task well to hold the late challenge of Massif Central by three-quarters of a length.< Great Wide Open displayed a gutsy attitude to make all in the Murray Ambulance Handicap.

The 10-3 favourite was very keen from the start and looked like he may be in trouble when the challengers began to ask questions of the leader early in the home straight.

However, Charles O'Brien's gelding kept pulling out more for Declan McDonogh and thwarted the late bid of Have A Nice Day by a short head.

Jim Bolger's Zorion won the opening Irish Stallion Farms E.B.F. Maiden in the fashion his odds of 4-7 suggested he would.

Kevin Manning was prominent throughout on the Smart Strike colt and the pair pulled well clear in the final furlong to make a wining debut in the colours of Godolphin by six and a half lengths from Joy For Mary < Crocodile Shoes (5-4fav) opened his account at the third attempt for Aidan and Donnacha O'Brien in the Michael And Teresa Keogh Memorial Maiden.

The Galileo colt hit the front over a furlong out after travelling well and was being pressed by Finian's Bay late on when the latter appeared to go wrong, leaving the winner to come home four lengths clear of Karadeniza

Johnny Murtagh got on the scoreboard as his Chilli Spice (9-1) came from off the pace to take the Irish Jockeys Association Handicap with authority, pulling two and a quarter lengths clear of Palmones
