< Slievecorragh gave trainer Francis Flood his 10th winner of the season in the Jigginstown Hurdle.
The 4-1 chance made most of the running under Mark Walsh and stayed on well to pass the post four lengths ahead of Maca Rince
Flood jnr, the trainer's son, said: "Slievecorragh has worn blinkers on his last few starts and they have brightened him up a lot.
"He is an improving sort and has strengthened up too."< Some Slam opened his account over obstacles in the Thoroughbred County Maiden Hurdle.
The 5-2 chance travelled powerfully throughout under Niall Madden and had the beating of favourite Sweet My Lord when he fell at the final flight.
Winning trainer Tom Mullins said: "Some Slam has had little problems since he won his bumper at Listowel and we've let him have his head out in front today.
"He'll run in a winners' of one race next."
There was a shock result to the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle as 25-1 chance Ballochroy hit the target for Dessie Hughes.
"He was well suited by the good ground and Ian (McCarthy) said he loved it out there," said Hughes.
"He may win another handicap, provided the handicapper isn't too severe on him."
Stephen McConville's Leggy Lad (16-1) showed a tenacious attitude to repel the challenge of Taking Stock in the Caragh Maiden Hurdle.
McConville, who has just four horses in training, said: "I thought Leggy Lad would run well after his good run at Fairyhouse the last day.
"The drying ground helped but I've no plans from here."< Hoochie Mama gained her first success at the 22nd time of asking in the Sallins Handicap Hurdle, while Willie and Patrick Mullins landed the Monread Flat Race with 5-1 chance Cottrelsbooley
