Robbie Power took the riding honours at Limerick with a 14-1 double on Weapon's Amnesty and Air Chief
A step up in class is on the cards for Weapon's Amnesty after he took the feature Jimmy Barry Memorial Dorans Pride Novice Hurdle.
The well-backed 11-4 favourite made smooth progress to lead before the last and beat Browns Baily by four lengths.
"He'll go for a Grade two race now," said trainer Charles Byrnes.
"He stays well and seems to handle that ground well but we think he'll handle better ground. He is a chaser in the making and hopefully he'll win a decent three-mile chase some day."
Power had earlier struck on newcomer Air Chief in the Newcastle West G.A.A. Three-Year-Old Maiden Hurdle.
Backed into 3-1 from 6s, Air Chief overcame trouble in running to win by three lengths from Gudnis Gracious Me
"We bought him at the Newmarket Horses In Training Sale out of Harry Dunlop's stable which has been lucky for us, we got Strangely Brown there too," said trainer Eric McNamara.
"He had an awful lot of schooling done coming here and we hoped he'd win."
