< Djakadam came out best in a battle with Bright New Dawn to take the Boylesports.com Killiney Novice Chase at Leopardstown.
Winner of a beginners chase at the track over Christmas, the Willie Mullins-trained five-year-old was sent off the 6-4 favourite and was always up with the pace as his market rival took them along for most of the Grade Two contest.
Bright New Dawn looked to be going marginally the better as they swung into the straight, but he was conceding 11lb and it made a difference as Paul Townend urged Djakadam clear on the run-in to win by four lengths.
There was a thrilling conclusion to the valuable Leopardstown Handicap Chase and it went to the Paul Fahey-trained veteran He'llberemembered
There were plenty of runners still in with a chance at the final fence, where the always prominent Immediate Response fell, and Shane Butler found a ready response from He'llberemembered (10-1) to take the lead and hold Daring Article by half a length.
There was another big pot up for grabs in the Boylesports.com Hurdle and it was won in tremendous style by Enda Bolger's Gilgamboa (10-1), who defied his inexperience as he got the better of Flaxen Flare from the final flight to win by a length and a quarter under Mark Walsh.< Zabana (16-1) had not been seen since the Galway Festival last summer but Andrew Lynch's charge lacked nothing for fitness as he joined issue at the last in the Tote Super Trifecta Handicap Hurdle under Robbie Colgan and forged two lengths clear.< Mister Nibbles looked a sitting duck at the last in the January Jumps Weekend Maiden Hurdle as favourite Champagne James loomed up to challenge, but Stuart Crawford's 4-1 shot kept finding more for Steven Crawford and finished half a length in front.
Bryan Cooper made smooth late progress on the Dessie Hughes-trained Back Before Dawn (8-1) to jump the last alongside Painted Lady in the Leopardstown.com Mares Maiden Hurdle before going clear to win by two and a quarter lengths.
