< Reddot Roman (11-4 fav) could be a colt with a bright future having impressed when opening his account with victory in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden at Gowran Park.
Mick Halford's colt made a promising start to his career when runner-up at Roscommon last month and was much more streetwise this time, quickening up in good style before holding off a late challenge from Sevenleft by half a length.
There was a nice moment for promising young jockey Connor King as he rode out his claim when steering Daliyan to a half a length success in the Join Us September 20th Handicap.
The 8-1 winner had plenty to do when turning for home but he stays much further than this so was always going to be suited by this strongly-run affair and was well on top at the finish.
Arguably the easiest winner of the evening came in the opener, the Gowran Park Claiming Race, as 5-4 favourite Vitalized overcame a wide pitch to scoot clear by three and three quarter lengths.
There was a terrific finish to the Gowran Park Golf Club Nursery Handicap as Lass Vega just got the better of Set To Fire
The 7-1 victor looked to have matters in safe keeping when taking over inside the final furlong but was all out when challenged close home and only had a head to spare as the pair hit the line.< Granny May (12-1) made a winning debut in the Best Of Luck To The Kilkenny Hurlers This Sunday Fillies Maiden, displaying a thoroughly likeable attitude in the process.
All appeared lost when the more experienced Bairns At Bay hit the front at the furlong marker but John Feane's filly was not to be denied and gamely got back up to win by a nose.< Double Fast landed the first division of the Kilkenny Apprentice Handicap at odds of 7-1, beating Tubeanie by a length.
