< Book Of Numbers took the feature Watree Handicap at Gowran as Jim Bolger enjoyed a red-letter day at his local track.
A winner at Wexford just last week and racing with just a mandatory 5lb penalty, he was soon travelling well for Davy Moran and asserted a couple of furlongs out.< Monteriggioni came out of the pack and while the gap at the line was just a neck, the 5-2 favourite appeared to have a bit in hand.
Bolger said: "He is heading in the right direction and he could go to the Curragh on Guineas weekend. He would also be a July sales candidate."
Bolger's Majestic Dancer was impressive as she made all in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Maiden, this time with Kevin Manning doing the steering.
The three-year-old was four and a half lengths too good for fellow 3-1 joint-favourite Celerina
Bolger said: "Kevin was always going to make the most of the draw. The ground doesn't matter too much to her but she wouldn't want it any faster.
"We'll see what the handicapper does with her now."
Bolger and Manning hit the mark again when Duaiseoir justified 3-1 favouritism in the Gowran Park Gold Club Handicap. The son of Bachelor Duke is owned by the trainer in partnership with Dave Beirne, an All-Ireland and All-Star winning Wexford hurler of the 60s.
Dermot Weld's Triple Eight (7-1) improved from his debut outing to take the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden in commanding fashion.
Winning rider Pat Smullen said of the stable's first juvenile victor of the campaign: "We were very disappointed with him at the Curragh. He was dreadfully green that day and as a result I got further back than I wanted and he had no race.
"Today I said I was going to be aggressive on him and it worked."
