The lightly-raced Moon Dice gave Paul Flynn and members of the Three Friers Cross Syndicate a day to remember when winning the ultra-valuable Guiness Galway Handicap Hurdle by four and a half lengths.
Tom Doyle stalked long-time leader and eventual runner-up Fosters Cross on the 20-1 chance and there was never any doubt about the result as he hit the front coming to the final flight.
Moon Dice, an impressive winner at Limerick on his only previous outing in handicap company back in May, belied his long odds by cruising to victory, sparking jubilant scenes in the winner's enclosure.
Galway wizard Dermot Weld dominated the rest of the card with a four-timer.
Having saddled seven winners at this year's Festival before racing began, Anam Allta (6-5 favourite) landed some hefty bets when recording victory number ten under Pat Smullen in the Arthur Guiness EBF Fillies Handicap.< Daffern Seal Rock Critic and Teach Nua had earlier struck for the master of Rosewell House, the former taking the Perfect Pint Beginners Chase in fine style.
The twice-raced gelding was sent to the front after the first fence, jumping like an old hand under Robbie McNamara, and after kicking clear coming to the last, the 11-4 favourite held Traffic Article five lengths clear on the run-in.
Rock Critic (11-4 favourite) made a mockery of his official rating in the Guiness Time Handicap, while Teach Nua (6-4 favourite) took the Arthur's Legacy Handicap by a length and three quarters from Norah Starr
Weld had to settle for second as Endless Intrigue found Tavern Times (5-2) trained by Tom Mullins and ridden by Davy Russell, too strong in the Arthur Guinness Fund Novice Hurdle.< Down In Neworleans (8-1), partnered by Danny Mullins, formed the first leg of a double for trainer Mags Mullins in the Guiness Summer Novice Chase, with Patrick Mullins successful for the same trainer on Cairdin in the concluding Guiness Storehouse INH Flat Race.
