< Monivea took full advantage as the favourites failed to shine in the Bobbyjo Bistro Race at Fairyhouse.< Miss Gorica and Gunga Din were sent off the 2-1 market leaders but Irish 1000 Guineas also-ran Monivea felt the benefit of a well-judged front-running ride from Davy Moran.
Monivea (7-2) was still in front a furlong out and although Miranda's Girl went in pursuit, Moran's mount kept on well to pull two and a half lengths clear.
Winning trainer Brian Nolan said: "That was not a surprise, she wasn't right when she ran at the Curragh last time out.
"We will come back here on July 1 for the Group race (Brownstown Stakes) and try to get her a bit of black type.
"I don't think she'll get further than seven furlongs."
David Marnane continued his good run as Dandy Boy (5-2) ran out a four-length winner of the Ratoath Maiden under Colm O'Donoghue.
Marnane said: "That was a nice change in luck for the owner (Malih Lahej Al Basti) as his horse Angel's Pursuit was unlucky in running at Royal Ascot yesterday."
Chris Hayes was seen to good effect as he steered 14-1 shot Loveisthedrug to a head verdict in the Fairyhouseracecourse.ie Handicap.
"He had three very nice respectable runs in maidens and hopefully he'll improve from the run. We will probably stick to handicaps for the rest of the summer now," said trainer Gerry Keane.
Mick Kinane obliged for favourite backers as he got Crowning Moment home by as head in the Ballyhack Handicap.
Kinane was at his strongest as the 5-2 market leader had to work hard in the final 100 yards to hold Golan Girl
Winning trainer John Kiely said: "She'll mix on the flat and over hurdles for the summer and we'll have a bit of fun with her. Michael gave her a brilliant ride."
Kinane made it a double when Big Game Hunter (11-10 favourite) struck in the Batterstown Handicap.
