< Kingman put up a scintillating show to land the Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh.
Beaten into second when favourite for the English equivalent, the John Gosden-trained colt was sent off the 4-5 market leader this time and travelled powerfully in mid-division under James Doyle.
Khalid Abdullah's colt cruised up to challenge the leader Shifting Power in the final quarter-mile and hit the front at the furlong pole before drawing away to score by five lengths, with Mustajeeb in third.< Slade Power produced a superb display of speed to take the Weatherbys Ireland Greenlands Stakes for the Eddie Lynam team.
Wayne Lordan had all bases covered as the five-year-old travelled sweetly throughout the Group Three contest and he got a terrific response when he asked for an effort going to the furlong pole, the 5-2 shot easily beating favourite Maarek by two lengths.
Johnny Murtagh picked up a Group Three prize when 20-1 shot Purr Along took the Lanwades Stud Stakes on her first start for the handler. She was played late by Jamie Spencer, sweeping into the lead inside the final furlong and holding off Fiesolana by half a length.
The absence of The Great War took much of the lustre from the Cold Move EBF Marble Hill Stakes, but Ger Lyons' unbeaten 4-6 favourite Cappella Sansevero could hardly have done any more to impress as he swooped inside the final furlong and cleared away in the hands of Gary Carroll to score by three and a quarter lengths.
The Jessie Harrington-trained Jeanne Girl (12-1) won the Castlemartin and La Louviere Studs EBF Fillies Maiden under Niall McCullagh in a thrilling finish, just holding on for a nose victory from Sexy Legs after a sustained duel through the final furlong.< Tonton Macoute (7-1) had a neck to spare under Fran Berry as the opposition closed fast in the Saadiyat Handicap, while Ronan Whelan grabbed the lead close home on the always prominent That's Plenty (7-1) in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF 'Habitat' Handicap.
