< Surrey Spinner made a triumphant return after 18 months off the track with a last-gasp victory at Cork.
The five-year-old, formerly trained in England by Amanda Perrett, was making his debut for John Walsh in the Newmarket Handicap.
After missing the break, the 20-1 outsider was brought with a telling challenge on the near side to get up in the dying strides and short-head his stablemate, the long-time leader Diamond Shower
Co Limerick trainer Austin Leahy registered his second winner in two days when sending out his Notaseasy (14-1) to win the Cork Maiden by three lengths.
Leahy said: "Notaseasy had a great run first time out last year when she was only beaten by two short heads - the longer trip didn't suit her last time out. She may run in Limerick on Tuesday week."< What About Me (20-1) gave Co Carlow trainer Brian Nolan his second juvenile winner of the year when holding Wrong Answer by half a length in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.
"I only have two two-year-olds and they have both won first time out for me which is unbelievable," said Nolan.
The two six-furlong races were switched to the round course due to waterlogging.
