Dream Function took advantage of Cadspeed's fall at Clonmel's final fence

There were dramatic scenes at Clonmel as Dream Function was gifted the Kilsheelan Beginners Chase after Cadspeed fell at the final fence.
Cadspeed was jumping for fun under Ruby Walsh and stretched clear soon after chasing debutant The Real Article crashed out with less than a circuit to travel.
Robbie Power was seemingly having to settle for second on Colm Murphy's Dream Function (6-1) with one to jump, but Cadspeed got it all wrong and the winner was left to coast home by 12 lengths from Mazuri Cowboy < Crouching Harry upset Willie Mullins' Fatcatinthehat with a tenacious performance in the opening Powerstown 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle.
Eoin Doyle's youngster was having his fifth start over obstacles and was sent straight to the front by Michael Butler.
Walsh delivered Fatcatinthehat with a strong challenge coming to the last but the winner dug deep for a half-length success.< Glens Melody (1-8 favourite) made no mistake for the champion trainer with an effortless win under Pattrick Mullins in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Maiden Hurdle, while the father/son combination doubled up for the day when Ballycasey took the concluding Next Meeting Thursday February 7th (QR) Maiden Hurdle at odds of 4-6.< Playing took the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle on his first public outing in 542 days.
Tom Foley's French import was a well-supported 7-2 joint-favourite and didn't let his supporters down under Shane Butler.
The Clonmel Racecourse Supporters Club Only 85Euro Beginners Chase went to Ros Brin ridden by Stephen Gray.< Tadhg loomed large on the turn for home but a brilliant jump at the last sealed victory for George Kingston's 3-1 favourite, who had six lengths to spare at the line.< Fever Pitch (7-1) left it late with a last-stride success for Arthur Moore and David Casey in the Fethard Handicap Chase.
