Review clonmel 27th Oct

< Mick Jazz had to work harder than perhaps most would have expected to make a successful Irish debut in the Cashel Maiden Hurdle at Clonmel.

The 9-10 favourite cruised up to touch down over two out in a share of the lead but Barry Geraghty really had to ask him a question after that.

He eventually responded to see off Russellstown by two and three-quarter lengths, and Gordon Elliott could turn him out again quickly at Down Royal next week.< Blackthorn Prince showed tremendous resolution in the hands of Geraghty to complete a hat-trick in the www.grahamnorris.com Memorial Handicap Hurdle.

Enda Bolger's 2-1 market leader took it up between the last two and when he was headed on the run-in by Trade Marked battled admirably to get back up and prevail by three-quarters of a length.

Elliott followed up Mick Jazz's triumph when Orchard Road (7-1) recorded a comprehensive success in the Clonmel Handicap Hurdle under Ruby Walsh, but his stable companion Missy Tata was a notable non runner in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Beginners Chase.

In her absence, Vicky's Charm was sent off favourite but she couldn't get to grips with the front-running Hello Sweetie (5-2), who was given a positive ride by Keith Donoghue and held the staying-on Lily Yeats by four and a half lengths, with Vicky's Charm only third.

Little more than a length separated five as they jumped the last in the Watch The Breeders' Cup Live On At The Races Rated Chase, where Eight Till Late came down, and Tisamystery (5-1) found most for pressure to repel Lip Service by half a length.< Rosshaven Lady (2-1) had plenty of previous jumping experience to call upon in the Cahir Mares Maiden Hurdle and that told as she accounted for Khalessi by four and three-quarter lengths.< Cloudy Morning was narrowly denied at Thurles last week and went one better in the Powerstown Demesne (QR) Handicap Hurdle.
