Preview ballinrobe 19th Jul

Sicilian Secret is yet to deliver on his initial promise but he will still take a power of beating at Ballinrobe on Tuesday.

Willie Mullins' once-exciting bumper prospect took some time to get off the mark over timber, but did so at the Irish National meeting before struggling at Punchestown.

The Eamon Sheridan Plant Hire Novice Hurdle represents a much easier assigment, even with his four rivals arriving in winning form, although Caribbean Sea has been beaten on the Flat since his Kilbeggan success.

Cumulus Nimbus was just short of Listed class on the level for Richard Hannon and is an interesting recruit in the Mayo News Maiden Hurdle, which gets the meeting under way at 5.20.

Now with Dessie Hughes, he has fellow NH newcomer Much Acclaimed, Jessie Harrington's Alamanda and the match-fit In A Nutshell to beat.

Harrington is responsible for the frustrating Seader and he won't find many easier opportunities than the Mayo Maiden Hurdle to reward those punters who have kept the faith.

Heavenly Bound got off the mark at the 12th time of asking under Rules at Roscommon and has an 8lb rise to defy in the Yolanda O'Gorman Memorial Handicap Hurdle, in which the Gordon Elliott-trained Thistimesforgood would be interesting if turned out again following last night's exertions here.

His stable companion Manger Hanagment is out to make amends for a Perth defeat in the Jennings Meats Handicap Hurdle, but he is burdened with top weight and the likes of Teak and Fearchar are perhaps less exposed.

There is very little in the way of winning form to go on in the Beamish Raceday Handicap Hurdle (Div 1) and Koh Samurai's Roscommon third sets a mediocre standard, while the second instalment is only marginally better and sees Western Island out to atone for letting favourite-backers down at Sligo.
