Yukon Lil completed a treble for Willie Mullins at Killarney this afternoon, as she ran out an easy winner of the concluding Jim Ryan Racecourse Services (Pro/Am) Flat Race.
A good third on her debut in the valuable Tattersalls Ireland Sales Bumper at Fairyhouse over Easter, the daughter of Flemensfirth was expected to go a few places better today.
Sent off the 5/6 favourite, the John Magnier owned four-year-old raced towards rear, taking closer order with half a mile left to race.
She eased to the front from two furlongs out, and soon stretched clear, never coming off the bridle, going on to score by eleven lengths under Patrick Mullins (two pounds overweight).
The Jessica Harrington trained newcomer Peres Et Fils (5s to 4s) finished second under her daughter Kate, while Not The Chablis (20/1) was another six lengths back in third with Mark O'Hare aboard for Eddie Harty.
The champion trainer, who was earlier on the mark with Stormy Ireland and Up For Review said afterwards: "She is a lovely filly and we had the dam Dare To Doubt. She hopped off that ground and as it gets drier, she seems to be getting better.
"We were planning on putting her away after today but we're going to have second thoughts I think, and there is a nice mares' winners bumper at the July Festival here for her.
"She looks like she could be a smart horse over hurdles and looks like she could also be a smart recruit to their breeding operation too."
STEWARDS REPORT
The Stewards received a report from Dr. Lynn Hillier, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, that she was unable to positively identify Subset, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, from the markings contained in the passport presented for this horse. Evidence was heard from the trainer's authorised represenatative, Michael Molloy and the Irish horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary officer. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Subset under the provisions of Rule 90 and referred the matter to The Chief Executive of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board for further investigation.
