You Say Nothing gained a first career win at Down Royal as the Gavin Cromwell trained gelding made all to win the Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle under jockey Conor McNamara.

The son of Epaulette was an unlucky loser when falling at the second-last at Fairyhouse in November and today got off the mark at the eighth attempt when beating Lauderdale Lady by five lengths.

Cromwell's assistant Feidhlim Cunningham later said "it was a great ride from Conor (McNamara) - he got to dictate from the front, gave him a breather at the right time, kicked again and saw them all off.

"He was very unlucky the penultimate day in Fairyhouse when he fell two out, and he was a little bit disappointing in Cork afterwards. That was more like him and it was a good win.

"The syndicate that own him had Bay Ambition a good mare who won two over hurdles, so it is great for them."
