You Can’t Catch Me lived up to his name as he made all to take the bumper at Downpatrick, the Meagan Green Miss Northern Ireland Ladies Flat Race.
Trained by Kieran Purcell and ridden by Adrienne Foley, the four-year-old son of Catcher In The Rye had the beating of Waylander on his last run at Tramore, but surprisingly that one went off at just 3/1, compared to the winners starting price of 7/1.
After making all the early running, travelled best two furlongs out and he was ridden over a furlong from home, keeping on well under pressure to score by a length and three parts.
Waylander finished back in second under Jane Mangan for Eoin Doyle at 3/1, while Old Castletown who was sent off the 8/11 favourite, could only manage a disappointing third, fifteen lengths back under Katie Walsh for her father Ted.
Kieran Purcell said afterwards: "He is a tough little horse. We have been riding him the wrong way in behind, he needs to be ridden from the front.
"There could be another one in him as he didn’t have a hard race there.
"We will go for a winners bumper in Galway but it has to be good ground.
"He is owned by my granddaughter Elaine."
