The crowds at the ever popular Bellewstown Festival enjoyed the conclusion to the featured Fast Shipping Bellewstown Handicap Hurdle as second favourite Xsquared edged out market-leader Casimir Road

Paul Carberry rode the half a length scorer for Joanna Morgan who said: "He has plenty of ability and he stays okay. He's a very good jumper and he wants that quick ground.

"Paul thought he'd be even better over fences but we'll keep him to hurdles for now and we'll probably look for something in Galway for him."

The Stewards interviewed P. Carberry, rider of Xsquared, winner, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion P. Carberry was in breach of Regulation 10 4 in that he failed to give his mount time to respond, and having taken his record into account, they suspended him for 1 raceday.
