Worldor #8217;s relentless progress culminated in him collaring Munsaab after the last and he duly went on to record a two and a quarter length success in the two mile handicap hurdle at Naas.
There was quite a touch landed on the Martin Brassil-trained six-year-old who opened at 14/1 this morning before being backed down to 9s. He then started trading at 10/1 on course and was hammered down to 9/2.
He was coming off a break of 240 days, but Slippers Madden had plenty of horse under him as he forged his way through the field.
“It’s compensation for a very patient owner. He had bad sinus problems a year and a half ago. He had a couple of surgeries and its only since June it has cleared up,” Martin Brassil said.
“He had a break, then we brought him back so touch wood its onwards and upwards.”
Munsaab took second place at 13/2 and Snow Flyer occupied third at 10/1. Cross-country specialist Sizing Australia confirmed his wellbeing in fourth at 8/1.
