Sorcha Woods partnered her tenth winner as Collective Power returned to winning ways in what proved a highly competitive Racing TV Club Day Handicap at Dundalk.

The well-backed 9/2 chance was recording his seventh career win and fourth at the track, but had to wait for a gap to appear about a furlong out.

The Eddie Lynam-trained gelding quickened up nicely when getting in the clear and kept on well to beat Musical Tribute who was switched left to get an opening, by a neck. Daamberdiplomat kept on one paced towards the far side just half-a-length back in third.

Lynam said, “It's good to win with him again. Sorcha was very good on him.

“I thought he'd gone a little bit moody and wasn't finishing out his races. She lights then up a bit, so we gave her a go on him. She's in with us a few mornings a week so it's great that she rode the winner.

“It was a very messy race, one minute 15 and change for good class sprinters.”
