Witness Of Fashion recorded his fifth win under rules when taking the Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Chase at Leopardstown.

The 12-year-old gelding gained a narrow advantage when Se Mo Laoch made a slight mistake at the last, and the pair fought out an exciting finish.

Trevor Ryan ’s mount, who also has a point-to-point success at Tattersalls Farm to his credit, held on by a head as the pair stretched 15 lengths clear of Don’t Let Go in third.

Winning trainer Pat Rooney said, “It’s nice to see him get back to form. He surprised us earlier in the year when he won a Ladies race but he got a terrible fall at Thurles and it’s taken a while to get his confidence back.

“He jumped well today and Trevor got a great old spin out of him. I thought the ground might have dried up a bit too much for him but he stuck his head out and will be all the better over three miles.

“He may go to Limerick on Sunday week.”
