Flying Windsor sprang a 20/1 shock when running out a game winner of the Ratoath Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse.
Roger Loughran settled his mount out the back in the early stages but she moved right through the field to lead at the third fence.
The Bill Lanigan-trained mare stuck on well in the closing stages, after Dog Barrel Hill challenged at the last, going away again on the run-in for a three-and-a-quarter length win.
The former point-to-point winner hadn’t shown a lot before today ‘on the track’ and was making her first start since finishing well beaten at Tramore in April.
“She’s a nice mare but she’s had a lot of niggly problems,” said Lanigan, who was saddling his first winner since May 2012.
“She won a point-to-point over two years ago and the owners (Podge Syndicate made up of the Cooper family) have stuck with her.
“She’ll stay three miles.”
