Jockey Tom Doyle followed up from his amazing final fence recovery on Steele's Rock at Gowran yesterday with another win at Naas today, on Lord Windermere in the opening www.naasracecourse.com Novice Hurdle. Doyle moved the gelding to the front at the second last and the pair eventually stayed on well for a three lengths of a length win over Ballynacree Afterwards winning trainer Jim Culloty said “that was a good performance. Lord Windermere is crying out for a trip and will be better over two and a half miles. He will be a lovely novice chaser next year and hopefully jumping fences is a formality for him - he has done loads of schooling. “He is one to look forward to and will go to Fairyhouse now – hopefully he will be out in a field by the time Punchestown comes around! He is a big horse and I won't run him on fast ground. He was entered in Cheltenham but the reason he didn't go was because of the fast ground. I'm just minding him for next year. “Lord Windermere dropped Tom on the way to the start and while he isn't quirkly, he is a bit of a character. He is very straightforward in lots of ways and is a 100% trier – the reason he fell on his first run was because he was a big baby.”
