Who's Cross justified favouritism in the bumper at Sligo as he ran out an easy nine length winner under Patrick Mullins for his father Willie.

The 4yo son of Runyon hung badly left close home on his debut at Clonmel and finished just a length behind the winner Reafadda.

Sent off the 6/4 favourite to go one place better this evening, he tracked the leaders early on and was third at the halfway stage.

He improved to lead three furlongs out before being ridden to assert inside the final furlong going on to score comfortably from 12/1 shot Darkestbeforedawn in second under Pa King for David Harry Kelly.

Newcomer Notimetoserve finished a further two lengths back in third under Mikey O’Connor for Paul Gilligan at 6/1 while the 7/4 second favourite Top Cat Henry finished completely tailed off under Nina Carberry for Kieran Purcell.

Winning rider Patrick Mullins said afterwards: "He should have won the last day but he hung left and he hung that way again today. I’d say he’ll go the other way (left handed) the next day.

"The ground is quite tacky and he really wants better ground."

Willie and Patrick Mullins were the third father and son combination to win at Sligo this evening after 'Boots' & 'Slippers' Madden and Pat & Tony Kelly.
