Chapel Street credited two-horse trainer and dairy farmer Joe Hennessy with a third success in two years today, landing Wexford's Slaney River (Ladies) Handicap Hurdle under jockey Jody Townend.

Castlemartyr, Co Cork based Hennessy sent out Lady Lingo to win twice last year and today Chapel Street, backed from morning 12/1 and returned 4s, scored at the ninth attempt when comfortably beating Alice O'byrne by five and a half lengths.

Richard Hennessy, son of the winning trainer, later said "unfortunately my father couldn't be here this evening but it's great that he won and he is owned by my wife Stephanie. You have to hand it to Jody, she got him jumping fantastically and it's great to get a win with him.

“He had a good run last time and we were hopeful today.

"Our other horse Lady Lingo unfortunately got injured early on this year and we put her in foal. We had a great summer last year with her and if this fella can replace her it will be alright."
