Effernock Fizz will bid to repeat her recent surprise Tipperary success with victory at Wexford today.
The Katy Brown-trained four-year-old has gone up over a stone for winning by 15 lengths off the front at 66-1.
A change of tactics to racing prominently did the trick there, so her rivals would do well not to give her too much rope in the BoyleSports Novice Hurdle. Adan Short again takes the ride. Dundeedy Lad could exploit bottom weight in the Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Steeplechase, after a couple of recent placed efforts.
He was backed to deliver on seasonal reappearance in Killarney last month, but gave best by three-parts of a length.
The six-year-old gelding then came in third at Limerick and ought to be ripe for this assignment off 9st 9lb with Sean O’Keefe’s claim factored in. Positive Outlook showed up well for a long way when third in a mares’ bumper at Tramore, and could be another for O’Keefe in the first split of the Loch Garman Mares Maiden Hurdle over two and a half miles.
Positive Outlook’s trainer, Paul Nolan, and O’Keefe team up again with Cash Me Outside who looks the one to beat in the second divide, after a pair of runner-up finishes over course and distance and in Tipperary. Song Of Namibia was an easy winner at Downpatrick on Sunday and is likely to have plenty of supporters, under the mandatory 6lb penalty, in the Calor Gas Handicap Hurdle. Morgan should come on plenty from his fourth place to Wicklow Brave in Ballinrobe, as that was his first run in 10 months.
He has to go on the shortlist for the BoyleSports Beginners Steeplechase. Churchtown Glen and My Oakclahome are two to focus on in the BoyleSports Handicap Steeplechase, although first reserve Blue Templar would be interesting, based on his Punchestown exploits, if getting a run.
The money was left behind when Robaddan came in second at Listowel but there could be compensation in the BoyleSports Flat Race.
