West Is Best had his market supporters when landing a minor 'touch' in the Follow Limerick On Twitter Handicap Hurdle at Limerick today, scoring for trainer Bill Lanigan and jockey Danny Mullins.

Backed from 20/1 on track to 14/1 at the off, the son of Westerner stayed on well on the run-in to eventually Be My Dream by a length and three parts.

Afterwards Lanigan said "he is a horse who always promised a bit and was placed in point to points and is from the family of Glebe Lad and we bred him ourselves.

"We'll try and find another race similar to that one next.

"Hugh Laing, a friend of mine for over 40 years, owns him and is a great supporter of mine."
