The Tracey Collins trained Sollertia was the well backed winner of the Foran Equine Irish EBF Auction Race at Roscommon today, scoring under Champion Jockey Pat Smullen.

The daughter of Mastercraftsman had been backed from 10/1 this morning and from 7/1 on track in to 5/1 at the off and in the end beat Highway To Heaven by a length and three parts.

Collins later commented “I’m delighted with her and her maiden race (debut run) at the Curragh has worked out really well. We were confident enough if she handled the ground - that was the big question, and she did.

“It’s not nice ground but in fairness to Roscommon they have produced a race meeting that we needed and all credit to the management.”
