The weights for the Pierse Hurdle and the Pertemps Handicap Hurdle (Qualifier) will both rise by 8lb after the top-weights were taken out this morning.

Newmill, top-weight in the 'Pierse', was withdrawn coughing, while Heavenly Blues was also taken out of the 'Pertemps' for the same reason.

The absence of Newmill leaves Kirbybroguelantern top of the weights at 11st10lb, with the bottom seven horses all brought into the handicap proper.
