Water Sprite gained an eighth career success at Limerick today as the Gordon Elliott trained mare landed the Irish Racing Wall Calendar (Mares) Handicap Hurdle, under jockey Liam McKenna.

The daughter of Papal Bull is a thoroughly versatile performer, and having previously won three hurdles, a chase and four flat handicaps, today bagged her eighth success when finishing well to lead close home and score a half length success over Drakaina

Afterwards McKenna stated “the ground today was a big help. The ground was probably a shade too quick for her on her last three starts but today suited and things went to plan.”
