Warreedy completed quick back-to-back wins when turning out again to collect the Galway Handicap Hurdle at Ballybrit this afternoon.

Brian McMahon 's charge had struck at Ballinrobe just over 24 hours previously and defied a 5lb penalty in the two-mile-contest today.

He travelled smoothly to challenge two out and kicked for home turning into the straight, under Eoin Mahon.

The 6/4 favourite jumped out right at the last and despite getting a bit tired on the run-in he had enough in reserve to hold the renewed challenge of Not So Simple by two-and-a-quarter lengths.

"That's super for Eoin who is a massive part of our team and a brilliant lad,” said Mahon.

"He (Warreedy) had an issue with his back and was probably on what you'd call 'annual leave' (absent for four years between 2015-19) and I got him just over a year ago.

"His chase mark is probably workable so we'll look at that.

"The first three horses home were all trained within four miles in Tubber in north Clare and south Galway and if we could find a pub open, we'd go!"
